Why the social and solidarity economy?
The social and solidarity economy (SSE) encompasses initiatives that place social utility, cooperation, and local roots at the heart of their operations.
It offers an alternative to economic models solely focused on financial maximization, by promoting:
• collective governance
• territorial solidarity
• the sustainability of actions
• the equitable distribution of value
For ROADS, the SSE represents a strategic space for experimentation and local transformation.
Our approach to the social and solidarity economy
ROADS does not promote a standardized model.
We analyze existing initiatives to understand:
• the context of their emergence
• the actors involved
• the governance mechanisms
• the results obtained
• the limitations encountered
This analysis fosters collective learning and identifies the conditions for transferability.
